The Mirror Distant, Episode I - Those Who Are Chosen
Aboard ship, you are aware that the state of the ship outside is very much the state of the ship inside. Worn down, barely maintained and in need of a good clean. You enter via one of two ramps that takes you into the cargo hold. Packed in every spare corner of the bay are a number of identical pods that are set horizontally on the floor. Their all a good 8ft long and 3ft wide. A dull metallic grey and laced with paneling that blends together into a nearly smooth surface.
There is also another protocol droid stood upright and offline.
(This is the best picture I could find for the kind of droid I mean, but its misleading. As I said, it's offline.)
You are all now milling in the cargo bay. Trying not to stand on any of the random debris or bump into the pods, which look like vegetable crates.
Drahcir (GM):
So, of the group that has arrived on the platform there are three people of varying species and a droid. The latter is a protocol droid, a variation of the 3PO line, dull orange in colour with the Republic emblem stamped on its chest and a pair of bright aqua eyes.
The lead of the group is a older looking Weequay, with worn features, a constant scowl and wearing what looks like adventurer fashions several decades out of date. The most prominent feature being his dark poncho.
The other two are a young Trandoshan and what looks like a human, with blue skin. A Pantoran if anyone were to guess.
(Mish and Cyphir, would you two describe your characters please. Physical description if you would.)
Cyphir (Karrsk):
The Trandoshan is wearing loose, dull clothing. Traveller's garb, most likely. Smooth, green scales cover his jagged face and clawed hands, while slitted, red eyes scan about the room cautiously. He appears to be rather young, both due to his height and the lack of years of weathering on his scales.
Mishael (Dreyce):
The blue skinned human stands back, aloof and silent. His shade of skin indicates that he most likely hails from an icy planet. His hair is dark, and his piercing red eyes seem to glow as they gaze at their surroundings. His clothing is dark and somewhat formal. He appears young and out of his element.
Drahcir (GM):
The ship perched on the landing pad is a relatively well known model. A 578-R Space Transport, made by Amalgamated Hyperdyne. Even from a distance you can tell that this particular ship has seen better days.
Standing by the ship is, presumably, the owner.
(Kaiser, please repeat the process for your own character.)
Iron Kaiser (Dex):
Standing by the decrepit-looking ship is the captain. He's human, and judging from his manner of dress, isn't from around Coruscant. He appears to be somewhere between his late twenties and mid thirties. His eyes dart back and forth, perhaps habitually, though possibly because he did not expect his visitors. The grease smears on his sides and dirty rag in his hand suggest that he's been recently inspecting his ship. Most curiously, a cylindrical device reminiscent of a jedi lightsaber hangs from his right hip.
Drahcir (GM):
The weequay approaches the captain and nods curtly. "Traynor." He says, by way of a greeting. In basic.
Iron Kaiser (Dex):
Traynor's eyes sweep over the group one more time, before falling on the Weequay. "Tas, can we talk for a second?" He says with a forced smile on his face. He moves as if to pull Tas to the side.
Drahcir (GM):
The protocol droid with the group immediately starts speaking in another language. The Trandoshan and the blue human both listen.
But as they draw away and the pair begins conversing quietly with one another, they can no longer be heard.
Iron Kaiser (Dex):
You two notice Tas Kee and this 'Traynor' fellow in a heated exchange.
Drahcir (GM):
At one point, the weequay leans toward the human, but the man stands his ground all the same. There is a good deal of terse if inaudible words exchanged. Tas smiles at one point, but it vanishes rapidly. The situation is, tense.
Cyphir (Karrsk):
"[Can you hear them?]" Karrsk asks the translator droid nervously.
Mishael (Dreyce):
The blue skinned alien looks slightly annoyed and subtly shifts his weight from one foot to the other.
Drahcir (GM):
The droid turns and says, in Huttese; "[Not at this distance. My apologies.]"
Cyphir (Karrsk):
Karrsk nods slowly and resumes watching the distant pair, his claws working at the hem of his sleeves.
Drahcir (GM):
You (Karrsk) do notice that Traynor has been glancing at you once or twice.
Iron Kaiser (Dex):
The human pulls away from the standoff and heads towards the group. He is clearly agitated and perhaps shaken, but is doing his best not to let it show. "Alright, let's get this party started." Dex says, clapping his hands together and putting on his best smile. "Dex Traynor's the name, and this," he says, gesturing to the ship, "is the Wayfarer. Not the prettiest ship, I know, but she'll get you where you need to go. We'll be heading off in the next few minutes, if you've got no objections."
Drahcir (GM):
The droid translates as needed.
Cyphir (Karrsk):
Karrsk waits for the droid to translate before shaking his head, a wary look lingering on Dex before he makes a move to walk to Tas.
Drahcir (GM):
Tas nods encouragingly.
Mishael (Dreyce):
The blue skinned alien approaches Traynor and bows slightly. "I am Kord'rey'cenara -- 'Dreyce.' Thank you." His voice is accented, and it is obvious that Basic is not his primary language.
Iron Kaiser (Dex):
Dex nods at Dreyce. "Pleasure to meet you."
Mishael (Dreyce):
Dreyce moves to follow the others toward the ship.
